About The Doctor
Dr. Voswinkel's passion for chiropractic did not begin until he was a
sophomore in college. Prior to college Dr. Voswinkel, a native Charlottean worked
in his father's dental lab with goals to become a dentist. He
comes from a family eager to care for other people. Not only does his
father run a dental lab, his mother is a registered nurse, older brother
is a family practitioner and younger brother is an attorney.
After high school Dr. Bert (as some call him) played, recorded and produced music professionally. He started traveling around the country promoting his group's records (albums
back then) and CDs with some songs receiving air play. In conjunction he
also started a sound and lighting production company working with national recording artist. While
these adventures were exciting and successful (although with long hours and hard work),
Dr. Bert still felt the need to help others as instilled in his family
's genes. With a few more years in the music business, he
led a slow transition to academic life to become (mentioned earlier) a dentist.
First receiving an Associates degree in Arts, then moving onto a Bachelors of
Science Degree in Biology from UNCC.
At this point (while still working part
time in father's dental lab) he met a family friend, a
chiropractor. Dr. Voswinkel soon found out the remarkable help this doctor gave his
patients with problems and pains he saw with people while travel around the country as
well as when he played sports as a child. The immediate help and changes
this doctor gave people soon convinced him this was the path he would take.
While still wanting to be in the health care field he soon moved to Atlanta
leaving years of professional music behind and started chiropractic school. While in school Dr. Bert's son was born which gave him even more inspiration and showed
how chiropractic can help the entire family, not just athletes, musicians, or
desk workers. Dr. Voswinkel finished his four years of chiropractic school including another
year of national and state boards to receive his Doctorate Degree. He then (
after working a year in Atlanta) moved back to Charlotte. Dr. Voswinkel
opened his first chiropractic office near his old alma mater UNCC to help not only
the students and faculty but the local workers and homemakers in conjunction with another well
established, experienced chiropractor. Dr. Voswinkel worked here five years gaining valuable experience
and making trusted friends among his many patients and professional relationships.
After seeing a
need to expand to a new location he chose downtown Charlotte to open his second
practice (solo), Gateway Chiropractic. Not only is the newer location more accessible
from all over Charlotte, he can now offer a newer, more modern relaxed
atmosphere. The new office (opened since March 2005) has been given great reviews from old as well as new patients!
Other attributes Dr. Voswinkel offers to his patient's is that he is certified in Thompson Drop technique and in chiropractic adjunctive physiotherapy. He is also licensed in both Georgia and North Carolina, member of the NC Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Association as well as other local and national organizations. He continues every year with board approved education courses to stay up to date with the latest care and techniques.
